The Amba Committee has inaugurated the “Judicial Independence Monitoring Project” and performed a staff survey in July 2024.
The survey aimed at monitoring the evolution of the individual perception of judicial independence within the Boards of Appeal. It is based on the Judges’ questionnaire used by ENCJ (European Networks of Councils for the Judiciary) in their project on Independence and Accountability, with some adaptations to our situation.
The intention of the project is to run this survey periodically and take a snapshot of our members’ impressions, feelings, and opinions on various aspects of judicial independence and see how they evolve.
The results were presented to the members on the 8th October 2024.
